Sorbet was created to celebrate the most amazing mango sorbet I had ever tasted, created by a chef/friend of mine. I’d never had anything quite as divine, and wanted to commemorate it in a visual form. That spring I was camping out in a studio in Cottonwood, Arizona three days a week, trying to get ready for a solo show. I had a hot plate and a toilet in the 8000 square foot space (a former car dealership from the days when they parked all the cars inside the building!), but only a cold water tap for washing up. My friends had a gourmet restaurant around the corner, and they fed me several times a week with the most spectacular food, made more so by my meager circumstances.
